Discover nature around Schruns-Tschagguns

As the southernmost Alpine region of Vorarlberg, Montafon is a true paradise for all professional and leisure hikers. But if you don't want to start your ascent directly from the valley, simply take one of the numerous mountain railways up to the heights and start your tour with a perfect view. We have compiled a list of the cable cars you can take to start your most beautiful hiking tour:

On June 3, the Silvretta Montafon cable car started its summer operation. When the weather is nice, you can take it from Schruns up to the Hochjoch, where a unique mountain panorama awaits you. Discover the alpine pasture landscape of the Montafon on leisurely circular hikes.

The Golmerbahn cable car has also been back in operation since June 3. Here on the "Erlebnisberg" (adventure mountain), you will find not only numerous hiking trails, but also the popular forest slide park. The combination of hiking and sliding makes a day on the mountain the perfect family outing. For even more action, the forest rope park and the breathtaking Flying Fox have also been open daily since June 19.

The Kristbergbahn takes you up to the Montafon's Genießerberg (mountain for connoisseurs) at an altitude of 1,444 meters. From here, you can hike via Innerberg to Fernblick. The opposite direction is also recommended: walk from our hotel to the Kristberg mountain station and then down to Silbertal to explore the village.

You can visit a very special favorite place with the Lünerseebahn cable car. From May to October, the state-of-the-art cable car takes you to the beautiful reservoir at 1,970 meters. Thanks to the glass floor of the cabin, you get an incomparable view of the landscape below. At Lünersee, a picturesque circular hike of about 2 hours awaits you. In early summer, the lake is framed by pink alpine roses, creating a unique spectacle.

The Gargellner Bergbahn cable car takes all hiking enthusiasts to the ideal starting point for a wide variety of tours. Among other things, you can start the Smugglers' Trail from here, whose impressive history we have already presented to you here.

For day trippers who don't want to take a mountain railway up to the heights, the Silvretta High Alpine Road has also been open since June 18. With 34 hairpin bends, the road takes mountain lovers by bike, motorcycle, or car up to the Silvretta-Biehlerhöhe pass at an altitude of 2,032 meters. Classic car fans in particular will get their money's worth on this fantastic trip.

As you can see, there is plenty of variety for an unforgettable mountain summer in Vorarlberg. And after your tour, you can relax in the most beautiful place in Montafon – the Me(e)hr_blick SPA in Fernblick.
