Tobogganing and sledging in the Montafon

Tips, Our Hotel

Wow, what a start to winter! Winter has been a long time coming, but now it's here - with a bang and a trumpet. The Montafon landscape is like a winter wonderland: deep snow-covered slopes, glistening white mountain peaks and branches covered in white, groaning under the weight of the snow and covering one or two hikers from head to toe in glistening white. Winter is definitely showing its best side. It's high time to grab your toboggan and sledge and set off on the fantastic toboggan runs in the Montafon. And what could be nicer than coming back after an active day outdoors, putting your feet up and ending the day in our Sky Pool

We have selected the 7 best toboggan runs in the Montafon for you so that you can enjoy the natural scenery of the Montafon to the full, as well as plenty of relaxation. No matter what the weather, whether it's snowing or bright sunshine - these toboggan runs will definitely sweep you off your feet:

1. Lindauer Hütte - Gauertal - Latschau

Around the Bartholomäberg and the Hotel Fernblick there are numerous routes that invite you to go tobogganing. You can reach the nearby village of Latschau, above Tschagguns, in just 15 minutes by car. But tobogganing and sledging need to be earned - so first you need to stretch your legs a little and hike to the Lindauer Hütte. After a 2.5-hour walk, you can either enjoy a well-earned drink at the Lindauer Hütte or head straight downhill, depending on your mood. The long ascent is worth it, as the route from the Lindauer Hütte via the Gauertal valley to Latschau is one of the longest routes for sledging in the Montafon.

2. Tobogganing & sledging on the Silvrettasee natural toboggan run

A special kind of day trip: in the middle of the Vorarlberg mountains, the approx. 1 km long natural toboggan run stretches along Lake Silvretta. You can take this route several times, because instead of walking, the Silvretta ski lift beckons here, allowing you to enjoy a particularly comfortable tobogganing experience. Here you can enjoy the fantastic natural scenery in the alpine terrain while tobogganing and sledging and experience unforgettable tobogganing moments.

Even the journey to the Silvretta Bielerhöhe is a special highlight: you drive by car to the Vermuntbahn cable car, which then takes you up to 1,731 meters. From there, take the "tunnel cab" up to Lake Silvretta at 2,030 m.

Please note: The route is only accessible with rental toboggans, as only these can be transported on the ski lift. You can hire toboggans on site.
