Grüne Hügel erstrecken sich in die Ferne, bedeckt von niedrig hängenden Wolken. Im Hintergrund sind Berge teilweise von Nebel verhüllt. Die Landschaft wirkt friedlich und unberührt.

There is no such thing as bad weather!

Tips, Active

Now that the days are getting shorter and the temperatures are dropping again, the weather on a Montafon vacation may not be quite so radiantly beautiful. But even in cloudy and rainy weather, this unique valley has so much to offer. We have collected 4 tips for you so that you can enjoy rainy days in the Montafon to the full:

The rain classic: off to the museum!

It's the tried and tested alternative program in bad weather, but that doesn't mean a visit to the museum has to be old-fashioned! The Montafon museums await you with exciting exhibitions on the most diverse areas of the valley's cultural history. In the local history museum in Schruns, for example, you can experience how people lived in this valley hundreds of years ago in an original Montafon parlor. The Montafon Tourism Museum even has a very special experience for all young visitors: the museum rally, where little explorers playfully discover the history of the valley. Admission is unbeatable: With the combined ticket, you can visit all four Montafon museums for just €7.

Adventurers hike despite light rain

If you fancy a hike, you won't be put off by a few drops of rain. There are also short, easy hikes around our Fernblick that are easily doable in the rain. Good footwear and weatherproof outerwear and you're ready to go. You will be surprised how different nature looks in the rain. You often discover plants and animals in bad weather that cannot be seen in the sunshine. Go on an exploration tour around the Bartholomäberg. Our reception team will also recommend your favorite hikes for this weather.

Visit the sheep of the Montafon

Come rain or shine, the Montafon stone sheep on Martin Mathies' farm are always cute to look at. The dedicated sheep farmer founded the Stone Sheep Initiative together with his colleague Peter Kasper and has been fighting for the preservation of this special breed of sheep ever since. The loyal animals with their small, robust build are inextricably linked to the history of the valley. Get to know the animals and marvel at the many different products made from the sheep's wool. For very special stone sheep enthusiasts, there is even the option of adopting a sheep.

Switch off and let the day pass by

When the raindrops patter against the glass front of our new sauna house, the level of relaxation increases even further. Because the feeling of missing out on something while you relax here to the full is virtually non-existent in this weather. Enjoy the pleasant heat in our event sauna or retreat to one of our quiet corners and listen to an audio book. If you don't appreciate water from above and below, stay in our indoor pools. Otherwise, we recommend our Infinity Relax Pool. There you can enjoy the feeling of cold raindrops mixed with the pleasant 34°C warm water of the pool.
As you can see: Rainy weather is no reason to hang your head! Simply discover completely new sides of the Montafon and experience your fall break in the Fernblick.
