Tips, Hiking

Here in the Montafon, pink is more than just a color - pink is an incomparably beautiful season that you should definitely see with your own eyes. Come to us in the Montafon and experience a very special natural spectacle - the alpine rose blossom.

In summer, the alpine roses bloom in all their glory, bathing the breathtaking Montafon mountains in a rich pink that amazes locals and guests alike every year. The perfect time to grab your mountain boots, set off on one of the countless hiking trails in the Montafon and experience and enjoy this blossoming splendor for yourself.

Pleasure for the senses

The lush pink of the alpine roses not only enchants your eyes, but also your nose. In addition to their unspeakable color, alpine roses are known for their seductive scent and this unique sensory overload ensures that you will not soon forget this incomparable spectacle.

Hike around the Lünersee

If you want to experience a very special hike, you should definitely take a walk around the Silvretta reservoir from July onwards. Lake L ünersee lies at an altitude of just under 2,000 meters. There you will experience a dreamlike natural backdrop that is hard to find anywhere else: Let your gaze wander over the jade-green lake and the lush green mountain slopes and take in the radiant pink and beguiling scent of the alpine roses. As the crowning glory, the Schesaplana at an altitude of almost 3,000 meters provides the perfect backdrop to round off this breathtaking natural spectacle.

Tip for plant collectors

It seems tempting to pick the bright pink alpine roses and take them home as a little souvenir. However, as the alpine rose is a type of rhododendron, it is also poisonous and can cause various ailments. It is therefore best to capture this incomparable sight with your camera for eternity - these photos will give you more pleasure anyway!
