Misunderstood: A paean to the rainy weather

Rainy weather is not everyone's cup of tea. If you start thinking gloomy thoughts as soon as the first drops fall, this text is for you. Because at Fernblick we are certain: rainy weather is much better than its reputation.

One of the advantages of rainy weather is the freshness of the air. Most people feel that the air quality is much better in the rain than in other weather conditions. This has to do with the fact that rain is rich in negative oxygen ions, which help to purify the air, literally "washing" it. Negative oxygen ions are everywhere in nature, especially near waterfalls or in forests. They have a positive effect on our well-being by giving us a feeling of relaxation and connection with nature.

Why is it actually called sleeping like a baby? They wake up all the time! The saying should be changed to "Sleeping like in the attic when the rain is gently pattering on the roof". Because this quiet background noise, the monotonous pattering, improves the quality of our sleep. The sound of rain calms the mind and helps us to sleep faster and deeper. Studies have shown that the sound of rain can even help to lower brain activity and thus reduce our stress levels.
