Experience summer in Montafon – festivals, celebrations, and adventures

Tips, Culinarium

Summer, sunshine, and good vibes: that's how we imagine the next few months. Finally, small gatherings with friends and family are possible again, so today we have a recipe for you that will be the highlight of your next garden party. Our fruity wild berry punch tastes like balmy summer evenings and good conversations with dear friends.

Ingredients

500 g wild berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries)
25 ml brandy
1 liter white wine (Grüner Veltliner)
350 ml sparkling wine
75 g brown sugar
125 ml strawberry syrup A little wild berry
liqueur to taste, if desired
½ lemon

Garnish:
peppermint leaves and currants

Preparation

Wash all the berries, halve the larger strawberries, and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle the berries with brown sugar and marinate them with the lemon juice and a little wild berry liqueur. Then cover the mixture and leave it to infuse in the refrigerator for about one to two hours. Now add the white wine and brandy and leave the punch to rest again for a while so that the berries can soak up the liquid. You can sweeten the punch with strawberry syrup to taste.

To ensure that the punch tastes as fresh and sparkling as possible, add cold sparkling wine just before serving. For a lighter version, you could also use mineral water or soda water. Now garnish with fresh currants and enjoy.

Our tip: A few peppermint leaves add extra freshness to the punch!

We wish you a wonderful summer evening on your terrace!
