Bathing fun in Montafon: Take the plunge into the cool water

Water has long played a central role in Fernblick. That's why we're taking a look at the cool waters you can enjoy at our hotel.

Back in 1986, Josefine and Karl Zudrell decided to offer their guests something truly special. The Fernblick was one of the first hotels in Montafon to have its own indoor swimming pool. In addition to its magnificent culinary creations and incomparable views of the Silvretta and Co peaks, the hotel now had another highlight. Even back then, it was particularly important to us that guests found relaxation at the Fernblick. For one of the first brochures featuring this new highlight, our current boss, Andreas Zudrell, even posed in front of the camera as a guest in the pool.

2012 saw what was probably the biggest change in our long-term vision. The Badehus with its unique sky pool was built. After many months of planning, a whole summer was spent working hard to make the dream of a pool 15 meters above the hillside with the most beautiful view in the region come true. The photos from our archive show the enormous amount of work that was required. Not only the sky pool, but also the other areas of our Badehus, such as the indoor panorama pool and the outdoor lounge, were created that summer.

Our sauna house was added to our wellness area two years ago as another highlight. The centerpiece of this exclusive area is clearly the infinity relaxation pool. The 40-meter-long pool, which is available for you in both winter and summer at a pleasant 32°C, has several whirlpool areas where you can let your everyday worries bubble away. The sauna house is expanded by many unique areas, such as our cozy loungers in the sauna lounge or the event sauna with its unique panoramic view. Our sauna house, which is reserved for our adult guests (aged 16 and over), becomes a clothing-optional zone from 5:00 p.m. Since our expansion in 2020, our guests now have over 500 m² of water area at their disposal.

So you see: Fernblick moves with the times. We were one of the pioneers of wellness hotels in Vorarlberg early on, and with our keen sense for your well-being, we will continue to surprise you with our ideas in the future.
