Close family ties and tradition have made the Fernblick what it is today: a luxury spa hotel with character.
We place great emphasis on the recreational benefits for our guests and our personal commitment to this end is almost infinite. We pay a great deal of attention to every single aspect of our hotel.
Fernblick – One Long tradition
In 1922, our grandparents, Franz Josef and Elisabeth Zudrell, opened "Fernblick" as a traditional alpine snack bar. In 1958, our father, Karl Erwin Zudrell, took over his parents' business. Two years later, he met our mother Josephine (née Mäser), and the two married in 1961. Their children, Andreas, Michaela Elisabeth, Karl-Heinz, Ulrich und Matthias Johannes, brought new life and joy to the house.
In 1965, Fernblick was renovated and expanded, resulting in the most modern hotel in the Montafon. New standards were set in 1972, when Fernblick built the first holiday apartments in the region and enhanced hotel comfort. From 1979 to 1981, Andreas Zudrell was trained as a cook at the "Kurhotel Schruns", then gaining experience in Lech am Arlberg and Switzerland. From 1983 to 1987, he completed his cooking and service training at the "Löwenhotel" in Schruns and worked at renowned hotels in Arlberg and Crans Montana. In 1986, Hotel Fernblick received its status as a 4-star hotel.
Eight years later, Andreas, his wife Klaudia, and his brother Karl-Heinz took over the management of the hotel.
In time for the new millennium, our spa facilities were expanded significantly. In 2006, we began construction of "Ferienhotel Fernblick": two new buildings with 125 beds, a new hotel kitchen and restaurant "Festgedeck", generous lounge with cosy dining rooms, sun terrace, and panoramic bar. The 1,000 m2 spa facilities were opened at the end of 2007.
